The AAI short course ‘Machine Learning – an Introduction’ may well be of interest to you and your organisation and key personnel.

This course introduces a range of fundamental techniques for machine learning. It is offered at an introductory level and it is suitable for general audiences with only some technical background in computer programming. The course starts with recalls of probability and linear algebra and continues to cover:
. classification
. maximum likelihood estimation
. the support vector machine
. MATLAB programming environment
. WEKA classification software

The short course will be particularly useful for all those:
People who work in industry, government or other entities who want to gain an appreciation of the technical insights of statistical machine learning beyond “black-box” utilisation of commercial software.

Course outcomes
Upon completion of this course students will:
Outcome 1: appreciate the range of techniques covered
Outcome 2: be able to read other sources and topics in autonomy
