Bauer Media executive board member Andreas Schoo leaves the company

Bauer Media executive Andreas Schoo, has departed the company following a change to the company’s executive structure.

Schoo first joined Bauer Media in 1992 in the company’s legal department, before taking responsibility for a range of magazines as publishing manager.

As publishing manager, Schoo was responsible for print, digital and temporarily radio in several countries.

Mumbrella understands he liaised between Australian CEO Paul Dykzeul and publisher, Yvonne Bauer.

According to a release from Germany last night, Yvonne Bauer has given the Executive Board a new structure which aims to ‘reflect the media group’s global alignment.’ Schoo has been a member of Bauer’s executive board in 2007.

Bauer will take over the responsibilities of Schoo, when he departs the company at the end of September.

She said Schoo had played a “large part” in the successful development of the group.

“I would like to thank him for the many years of successful work in top management positions. I am particularly grateful that he helped shape the expansion of our print business in Germany and played a significant role in developing the digital business of Bauer XCEL Media.

“He was also instrumental in driving our foreign activities in the core western markets. Also on behalf of my family and the Executive Board, I wish Andreas Schoo all the best and every success for his future professional and private life.”

The news comes a day after Bauer Media Australia was told by the Victorian Supreme Court to pay Australian celebrity Rebel Wilson more than $4.5m.
