Another terrific Richard Wilkins moment
Nine’s entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins is of course the gift that keeps on giving.
Describing a nasty fall off a stage in Sydney for Jimmy Buffett is not a good moment to get the words “terrific” and “horrific” mixed up…
Still, on the plus side, at least on this occasion he didn’t announce that he was dead:

Richard has some special sources for his information … like http://www.rwcdg.com/

Richard Wilkins has NO talent – Nine can do MUCH better

My favourite is on Thursday mornings when Dicky does his “movie day” review of some big movies coming out that week.
For some strange reason he reviews the same movies, in the same order as what was aired on “At the Movies” the previous night on ABC.
Funnily enough, he also tends to give ratings identical to those given by David & Margeret.
Having said that, it is at least slightly better than Fifi Box’s attempts over on Sunrise when she uses the ratings of a US website (giving a rating out of 0-100%). It was particularly fascinating viewing when Fifi didn’t give a rating for a partcular movie and suggested we go see it to make our own mind up… Why? Because the website in question hadn’t given it’s rating yet.

My comment is as newsworthy as this ‘news’.

A mistake by Richard maybe however if you look at the origines of the word terrific you will find terrifying!

Maybe he’s just not a fan of the Parrotheads

meh. All of the Channel 9 male presenters make my skin crawl. At least Dicky doesn’t have the square head and arrogant attitude that seems to be a pre-requisite for a role in front of (or behind) the camera at 9. He may be bad, but at least he only makes me want to laugh at him, the rest of them make me want to slap them.

Originally a Kiwi of course, and I believe he was ‘sheep most likely to be a sheep’ in his school yearbook.

At the risk of defending Richard Wilkins, terrific originally meant “full of terror”. Kickin’ it old, old school.

Come on, give the poor guy a break.
