The leading automotive marketing summit makes it to Melbourne

The action is over for 2019 at the Mumbrella Automotive Marketing Summit – Melbourne. Two days after Daniel Ricciardo’s amazingly short first race for Renault, the Mumbrella Automotive Marketing Summit made its first start in Melbourne, packed with the biggest names in automotive marketing discussing the most relevant industry challenges. From new consumer habits to the future of the dealer, the relevance of motorsports to automotive brands and the winning ways to engage the consumer, the conference offered a completely fresh take on automotive marketing. The event will be run again in Sydney on August 8 this year while the Melbourne event will return in 2020 where we will hopefully discuss a much longer race involving Daniel Ricciardo.

From Bathurst Wins to Business Deals: The TEKNO Group Story

TEKNO Autosports is known as one of the smaller teams that packs a big punch in the Virgin Australia Supercar Series. Established in 2011 by Jonathan Webb, it is the benchmark single car team in the championship.

Under Webb, the team has scored eight poles and 11 wins in its short history, including the fabled Bathurst 1000 in 2016, which Webb himself won as co-driver with Will Davison. It’s also run international drivers the likes of current IndyCar winner and ex-F1 driver Sebastien Bourdias as well as Indy 500 winner Gil de Ferran.

TEKNO’s motoring and motorsports pedigree goes way beyond Supercars, though. It actively participates in GT racing and has won the Bathurst 12 hour while TEKNO Performance is a dedicated road car engineering division specialising in the performance enhancement of premium late-model vehicles.

At the Mumbrella Automotive Marketing Summit – Melbourne, Webb will take the stage in a special fireside chat to talk about the TEKNO brand, running and marketing both a competitive racing team as well as a consumer business, and how the challenges are shaping up for the year ahead.

Jonathon Webb

Managing Director & Driver, TEKNO

Karen Spear, National Customer Experience Lead, Deloitte

I’ve really been impressed with the diversity of the speakers. It's automotive focused but there's a lot of different views and a lot of topics that've been covered which I think is great. It means that you really get a broad benefit out of the day.
