Formula 1 has changed substantially over the last few years. Bernie Ecclestone has stepped away, Liberty Media under the guidance of Chase Carey have stepped in. The calendar is now 22 races long spanning every populated continent aside from Africa and the sport is going through some major changes to make it more appealing to its global fanbase. The woman charged with a major part in leading this push is Formula 1 director of marketing and communications, Ellie Norman. She stepped into the role in 2017 after senior roles at Virgin Media and Honda Motor Europe, and has seen significant change already, including a complete rebrand of Formula 1 at the end of 2017. In this session, Norman will present the headline keynote at the Mumbrella Automotive Marketing Summit – Melbourne, after the first round of the 2020 Formula 1 World Championship. She’ll discuss her role, how Liberty Media is transforming the sport, and what to expect from a marketing and communications perspective moving forward.
