Behaviour Change Partners management partner Oliver Shawyer departs after five years

Behaviour Change Partners management partner Oliver Shawyer has departed the agency after five years to take on the MD position of digital agency Feel Creative, also taking an ownership stake in the agency.

Oliver Shawyer departs Behaviour Change Partners after five years

Shawyer joined the agency in its early days in February 2012 after two years of freelancing. Prior to that he was a research and strategy executive at MCN.

Paul Fishlock, Behaviour Change Partners founding partner, told Mumbrella: “Oli was my very first hire after starting Behaviour Change Partners and he has been closely involved in virtually every client project as well as building the agency’s capabilities.

“We’ll miss his energy, ability and passion for all things Behaviour Change a great deal but expect to still be working closely with him in his new role as MD of Feel Creative.

Shawyer told Mumbrella: “Having worked with Feel for almost four years through the agency, I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity and future, notably in the fusion of behavioural science and tech in our ever-increasing digital world.

“The last five years since setting up Behaviour Change Partners with Paul has been beyond incredible. I couldn’t be happier, nor more humbled in what we’ve created, what we’ve achieved. We set out to be the first agency of its kind, founded on and living by the application of behavioural economics and I think we’ve done an incredible job of setting that platform.

“Adam Ferrier mentioned at the MSIX conference last year that ‘often being first can feel a lot like being wrong’, and sitting here in contemplation and reflection, he’s absolutely right. It’s a scary place to be, and you do often find yourself questioning whether what you’re doing is right, wanted, or even needed.

“Not only have we battled the battle of being a small creative agency in an industry that constantly heralds the death of the creative agency, we’ve done it fighting uphill in the adoption and application of a field that in itself, is still in its infancy. It’s been an incredible ride, full of amazing learnings, successes and failures. One that offers me a great deal of insight as I push my own career forward.

“I look forward to continuing to work closely with Paul as the Behaviour Change Partners offering grows in the digital space.”

Shawyer starts with Feel Creative in April.

Behaviour Change Partners has worked with the likes of Woolworths, Cancer Council, Diabetes Australia and the Heart Foundation.
