The photo on the left was taken eight years ago on the day she started at Mamamia as an intern. Today, she begins her new role as Head Of Podcasts at Mamamia, the largest women’s podcast network in the world with over 70 million downloads of our 28 shows (Mamamia Outloud alone has grown to more than 1m downloads per month). Lize is a proud country girl from Barraba (it’s near Tamworth) and has had many roles here at Mamamia as she has worked her way up, including a short stint as my EA. She crashed my car one time on the way back from dropping some beauty products to a women’s shelter and was scared to tell me. I laughed. Had she not told me about the ding I would have surely never noticed. Today is such a proud day for her family, her @mamamiaaus family and for every young woman with a dream to work in media. How lucky we are to have her leading such a capable team that has been led previously by so many extraordinary women including @moniquebowley @_rachelcorbett and @bridgetnortheast . Working with women and watching them fly is the best part of working at Mamamia IMO. Brava, Lize. ???Welcome home. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ A post shared by Mia Freedman (@miafreedman) on Aug 9, 2020 at 11:14pm PDT Ratliff’s move to Pacific Magazines came as the publisher announced its merger with Bauer Media. The coming together of the two media businesses resulted in around 200 redundancies. More have followed under private equity fund Mercury Capital, which purchased Bauer’s ANZ assets from its German owner earlier this year.Mamamia’s previous head of podcasts, Rachel Corbett, resigned in March. The role was filled by assistant head of podcasts Bridget Northeast. Northeast appears to have left the business, with Freedman thanking her for her time in the role.“How lucky we are to have [Ratliff] leading such a capable team that has been led previously by so many extraordinary women including @moniquebowley [Monique Bowley], @_rachelcorbett [Corbett] and @bridgetnortheast [Northeast]. Working with women and watching them fly is the best part of working at Mamamia,” she said on Instagram. ADVERTISEMENT
