Mobile has finally overtaken desktop as the place where audiences are to be found.

But marketing to audiences on mobile requires different skills and practices. And with mobile not only having come of age  but  evolving faster than any other area, it’s essential to stay on top of the latest technology changes.

Join Australia’s leading mobile experts for a four hour immersion curated by Australian mobile pioneer Rob Marston.

The Mumbrella Mobile Marketing Masterclass will offer key insights into developing mobile areas such as beacons, artificial intelligence, virtual reality & augmented reality and mobile payments.

10:40am: Optimising for AI – Why Every Marketer Will Need to Understand Virtual Assistants
– Stewart Gurney, National Head of Strategy, PHD Australia

In the Spike Jonze film ‘Her’, Joaquin Phoenix falls in love with his computer activated operating system. Whilst this may seem far fetched, the underlying premise of non-human assistants helping us to run our life is not. It’s here.

As algorithms play an increasing part in our interconnected life, find out where we are heading with this rapidly evolving area, and what marketers need to do to prepare for a time when optimising for AI is standard practice.

11:20am: Future of Apps –  270 Billion Reasons for Marketers to get Involved
– Andrew Banzas, Mobile Applications Specialist, QBE Insurance

In 2017 it is forecast that there will be 270 billion downloads of apps globally. At the same time Apple is reducing the number of apps in the App Store to focus on quality over quantity. With 88% of consumer time spent on devices being within apps, this is an important and fundamental part of the ecosystem.

12:00pm: Beacons – The Key to Proximity Marketing
– Nathan Dunn, CEO, BlueCats

Beacons have been hailed as the missing link between mobile and the physical world. Supported by both Apple and Google, beacons promise to be the keystone of the rise of close proximity mobile marketing. After much excitement about the promise of beacons, the case studies are now beginning to come in.

12:40pm: Lunch

1:15pm: Metrics Panel Discussion

As Peter Drucker famously said, ‘If you can’t measure you can’t manage’ and digital is an area where measurement is key. Unlike the universal desktop cookie, measurement in mobile is more complicated and less consistent. This panel will discuss the key areas facing measurement and provide guidance on how best to do it – and the mistakes to avoid
