First Dates holds steady on second outing as I’m A Celebrity out-rated by Big Bang Theory

Seven’s reality show First Dates continued to attract viewers on its second outing, pulling in 877,000 metro viewers at 9:00pm, up slightly on last week’s debut audience of 874,000.

The show had a healthy lead-in audience thanks to My Kitchen Rules which saw 1.544m metro viewers tune in from 7:30pm.

First DatesThis was slightly down on last week’s audience when MKR grabbed 1.574m.

Both shows helped Seven easily win the night, with an audience share of 28.3%, well ahead of closest rival Nine, which posted an audience share of 17.8%. Ten claimed third place with a share of 12.6% as the ABC settled for a share of 11.2%.

MKR and First Dates were the most-watched and the second most-watched shows across the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54) while Ten’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! was the third most-watched show.

I’m a Celebrity was watched by 691,000 metro viewers but was out-rated by Nine’s The Big Bang Theory, which grabbed 813,000.

In the 8:30pm time slot, Nine’s The Embassy was watched by 489,000.

On the ABC, 7.30 Report pulled in 607,000, Julia Zemiro’s Home Delivery (8:00pm) grabbed 502,000 and Charlie Pickering’s The Weekly (8:30pm) was watched by 517,000.

In the news battleground, Seven News won the night with a 6:00pm audience of 992,000, dipping to 953,000 at 6:30pm.

Nine News pulled in 904,000 at 6:00pm, sliding to 892,000 from 6:30pm.
