First look at Seven’s Kitchen Nightmares Australia

Seven has given audiences a first look at Kitchen Nightmares Australia, with the first Australian spin on the famous US franchise set to air on Seven and 7plus later this year.

The Australian series is fronted by outspoken awarded-winning chef Colin Fassnidge, who lifts the lid on local restaurants flirting with failure. Taking audiences behind the kitchen doors of a different establishment each week, Fassnidge uses his 28 years of restaurant experience to provide honest feedback and practical insights to real-life business owners whose livelihoods are on the line.

Tensions flare and conflicts arise as Fassnidge exposes the kitchen’s faults, before arming owners and staff with the expertise to running a profitable restaurant, with the hopes of his tough love turning the owner’s kitchen nightmares into a dream.

Seven’s director of network programming, Angus Ross, said: “Kitchen Nightmares is one of the most successful television series in the world and we are delighted that it is coming to Seven in its first-ever Australian incarnation.

“Kitchen Nightmares is a powerful mix of advice, tension, conflict, and great entertainment. It offers a fascinating look at the ins and outs of the restaurant business, revealing the secrets to success for running a profitable restaurant. By turns exciting, moving, surprising and inspiring,

Kitchen Nightmares will prove that even the most disastrous situation can be turned around with a bit of imagination, some tough advice, and a lot of hard work.”

Host Colin Fassnidge said: “Restaurants across Australia have been hit hard over the past couple of years and livelihoods are on the line. I’ve learned a fair bit in the restaurant game over the last 28 years and I can’t wait to help out a bunch of businesses with plenty of advice and a healthy dose of honesty.”

Produced by Eureka Productions for the Seven Network, the series is based on the original global format distributed by All3Media International.
