Alister Coyne

I’ve always been interested in connecting with people. For the past 10 years I’ve been making connections with people in so many different ways, most of them online. For me online was a platform of equality, I could connect with anyone regardless of race, country, time-zones or disability. Being hearing impaired meant that I could see, hear what everybody else was doing. Suddenly I had a platform where I could engage with everybody, it’s no wonder that I ended up working in digital.

As a freelance consultant for the last six years, I’ve worked for numerous agencies in Edinburgh, London, Melbourne, Sydney & Auckland. In Edinburgh I journeyed into the world of SEO to get a casino website number 1 on Google, no mean feat. In London I created the largest digital campaign in the history of Yahoo! with a series of rich media banners that was very broadband friendly. In Melbourne I ate a mountain of Chupa Chups working on the account for three years. In Sydney I helped to launch Virgin Atalantic to the world and in Auckland I’ve taken Toyota into a whole new digital space with their campaign ‘Believe’.

I love digital, who wouldn’t? Just because I’m mostly online it doesn’t mean I never venture into the real world. Get me in for a coffee and a chat and I might even mention social media, Twitter or what I had for breakfast.
