Lone Martinsen

My name is Lone, I’m a 28 year old Norwegian girl with eleven years experience as a journalist. The reason for this letter is that I want to further develop my professional experience in Australia.

I started as a sports journalist when i was 16, and have experience working for different newspapers in Norway covering sports, general news, concerts and events. As a journalist I always took my own photos, and have a lot of experience in news photography.

Before I moved to Sydney in 2017 I was working full time for a local newspaper where I mostly focused on crime and was ranked as one of the top journalists writing the most sales triggering articles (for subscriptions). The last six months before I left I was also in charge of the online paper.

After I moved to Sydney I worked for SBS Norway where I was working casual as a radio hostess, finding and telling stories. I was also hired to cover the Norwegian election.
Since then I’ve been working for the Norwegian news agency NTB’s Sydney office, where we cover whatever happens in the world while Norwegians are asleep (cause of the time difference), that being sports, crime or politics.
I’m sponsored as a journalist and have work rights in Australia,.

I know as a non native english speaker I will have to prove my worth, and I’m happy to take on an intern position while I do that. You’ll get free labour and I get some experience. Win-win!

I hope to year from you, whatever you can offer.

Best regards
Lone Martinsen
