Instagram combines IGTV and feed videos to one format
Instagram has announced Instagram Video, a new video tab within its app. The tab combines both IGTV and feed videos into one format.
With Instagram Video, IGTV Ads are now called Instagram In-Stream video ads. Eligible creators can still monetise their long-form content, while brands can reach audiences engaging with long-form video via the platform.
For those wishing to use Instagram In-stream video ads, videos cannot be longer than 60 seconds in length.
Instagram has also introduced new features for videos, such as trimming, filters and people and location tagging.
Another change is that Instagram has merged feed post insights and video insights into one combined metric for businesses and creators.
Instagram also recently released its map feature, as well as announcing a pause on Instagram Kids.
Instagram’s main competitor for video is TikTok, which recently announced new features for advertisers on its own platform.
