Account Director – SEO

*** Who is Full Measure Digital? ***

Full Measure Digital started life as a small consulting project back in 2010. Nine years later, we are one of Australia’s leading SEO and SEM agencies, taking pride in the work we do for our long list of clients: everyone from owner-operated small businesses up to industry leaders like Jetstar and Myer.

Our vision is simple: to be the best SEM and SEO agency in Australia at delivering our clients tangible, profitable business growth. We do that by hiring the best team, deeply understanding our clients’ businesses, genuinely caring about their results, and constantly driving growth based on data-driven marketing.
What you’ll be doing

In this newly created role, reporting directly to the Managing Director/Co-Founder and supported by a team of SEO Specialists, you’ll be the lead in unpacking client’s marketing problems, learning about their customers, designing effective SEO strategies and executing on it for some of Australia’s biggest household names.

Coming up with the solutions is only half the job. Helping your client’s execute your SEO vision is just as important. You will be explaining your SEO recommendations to an audience with mixed SEO experience using a variety of formats, such as:

– creating and responding to JIRA tickets with developers
– translating technical issues for a non-technical audience in a technical audit
– presenting a linking opportunities deck in a face to face meeting to a content agency

You’ll be seen as the main go to person for our SEO clients to ensure the smooth running of all SEO activities. You’ll be rolling up your sleeves and collaborating with a variety of our client’s stakeholders across multiple departments (such as Product, Development, Design/UX and Marketing) – as it will be your input and coordination that ensures the successful deployment of SEO campaigns.

You’ll be building and maintaining great relationships with our clients and keep them happy. This means paying attention to detail, looking for new ways to add value and always delivering on promises. You also have to be OK with tough, proactive conversations with clients.

So our clients can be onboard with your recommendations, you will also be teaching our less experienced clients about SEO and turning them into SEO champions within their own organisation.

*** What we’re looking for ***

We are looking for someone who is as good with client management as they are with SEO. The role is focused heavily on relationships, not so much on the technical side, as you’ll have SEO specialists supporting you day to day. You will still need to be familiar with the tools so you can assist on projects from time to time, but this won’t be seen as your main responsibility.

You are no wallflower – your presentation skills will be both engaging and influencing. You’ll be comfortable pitching to everyone from ‘C’ level executives to web developers and writers.

You enjoy explaining technical recommendations to a non-technical audience. You can tell a story with data to top leaders while quantifying the business impact of your SEO work.

You are comfortable working with complex, large international organisations where the teams are based around the world, as you are with small businesses where you deal directly with the owner-operator.

You see outside the SEO world, are commercially focused, understand business goals and can work around technical restraints and competing priorities. It’s not enough to see the solution, you are able to think critically and make decisions based on changing/less than ideal situations.

Ideally you will have come from an SEO background (4+ years relevant work experience in SEO involving technical, content and linking initiatives) and have worked your way up into an account management position.

While we need someone who gets “Technical SEO”, we mainly need someone who can get to the heart of how we can help our customers.

You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
