A rare and exciting opportunity exists to join one of Australia’s most well-respected and fastest growing international development organisations – The Fred Hollows Foundation. We have an ambitious 5-year strategic plan that aims to take The Foundation even closer to realising our vision.

This is an opportunity, for someone to join our award winning Communications and Community Education team. In this leadership role, the Communications and Public Relations Manager, will oversee and be accountable for the effective development of Communications and PR strategies within the core Australian market.

In particular, this role will focus on:

• Developing and implementing a communications strategy to build media awareness and brand recognition and raise awareness of The Foundation’s work
• Innovate and seek opportunities in new media and across diverse channels
• Create and implement a new Ambassador Strategy
• Manage significant community engagement activities, including the Fred Hollows Humanity Award and community fundraising campaigns
• Provide strong mentorship to a small but highly skilled team

About you! You are creative and passionate about changing the world. You have a relevant tertiary qualification and substantial experience working in media or PR management. You can demonstrate a strong understanding of want the media wants and remain on top of current trends when it comes to new media. A people person, you collaborate well with others and value the experience and knowledge of colleagues. You are proactive in leading the generation of new ideas, champion innovative solutions for best-practice and take responsibility for the effective delivery and execution of your work. An inspiring leader, you value individual team members and focus on team achievement to reach common goals. You have a great contact book and can reach out to both media and potential new ambassadors to generate awareness of our work.
