Communications & Marketing Coordinator

– Not-for-profit, member-based organisation located in Sydney CBD
– Full-time (37.5 hours per week), 12-month fixed-term contract, $70-$80K depending on experience

About us

The Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine (ASHM) is a professional, not-for-profit, member-based organisation. It supports its members, sector partners and collaborators to generate knowledge and action in clinical management and research, education, policy and advocacy in Australasia and internationally.

About you

We’re looking for a comms generalist with a strong background in internal and organisational communications, and communications strategy. You’ll be managing a Communications & Marketing Officer to make diverse, often complex subject matter interesting and engaging for our audiences. Knowledge of health communications is a plus—you’ll be promoting and communicating about HIV, hepatitis and sexual health education, resources, events, policy and advocacy to doctors, nurses, specialists and the general health workforce in Australia and the region.

The Communications and Marketing Coordinator reports to the Director of Policy & International, Deputy CEO and has responsibility for:

– Conducting communications and marketing activities relating to the promotion of ASHM, its programs, and services
– Overseeing the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of ASHM’s internal communications processes and infrastructure
– Supporting the ongoing development and implementation of the ASHM communications strategy
– Overseeing the management of the overall corporate brand, including the visual brand and organisational voice
– Managing a junior staff member within the ASHM communications team
– Developing and implementing communications plans relating to ASHM’s events and projects and project manage communications activities
– Supporting the overall objectives and activities of the ASHM Communications Strategy
– Supporting ASHM’s media and sector engagement

Candidates must have a tertiary qualification in media, communications or marketing OR equivalent work experience, and at least four years’ work experience in a similar role.

With your demonstrated experience in developing and implementing organisational communications strategies and processes, you will be confident in clearly and concisely summarising and expressing complex ideas, with the ability to deal professionally with people at all levels. Working in a team environment, you will have excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
