Content Designer

Sydney CBD – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Content design is one of the core components of service design. It takes a holistic view of content, and includes information architecture, content structure, the creation of written messages and visual communication.

A Content Designer focuses on user needs and ensures that research, analytics and statistics inform content development and management. The Content Designer is responsible for designing, updating and reviewing content around end-to-end user journeys and will also support Healthdirect Services by:
• working with subject matter experts to:
o write clear text in plain language
o lead the production of visual material and multimedia
• making sure content is:
o helpful to users
o aligned with service plans and goals
o accurate and in line with guidelines
o accessible and inclusive
o searchable and findable

The successful candidate will have;
• Demonstrable experience in content design, digital production and publishing processes, spanning multiple channels, such as web, mobile, social, voice and SMS.
• Strong editorial skills and attention to detail, with proven ability to write clear and concise copy for Australian consumers.
• Strong understanding of SEO best practices, including the Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trustworthiness (EAT) guidelines.
• Experience in using web analytics and market intelligence tools, as well as in contributing to user research and content testing.
• Strong experience of digital projects and agile, multi-disciplinary service delivery teams.
• Understanding of current digital best practice, including user behaviours and UX principles, multimedia, search, responsive / adaptive design, inclusive design and accessibility (WCAG).
• Proven ability to manage priorities and stakeholders, and to deliver on time.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills and a positive collaborative approach.
• Ability to take initiative, work independently and develop new opportunities.
• Proven ability to work in Content Management Systems, and an understanding of HTML, CSS and other web technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field is required.
• Experience from, or an interest in, the health sector is highly desirable.
