Corporate Senior Account Manager

Are you a first-rate PR/Comms operator looking for your next challenge at an award-winning agency? We are looking for an experienced Senior Account Manager to take on responsibility across some of our largest and most established corporate clients. If you provide insightful client counsel, have a deep understanding of the corporate and financial services space, are creative and passionate about helping businesses through compelling communication, we want to hear from you.

Key strengths within this role should include; content creation for both corporate and business audiences, Australian media relations, a passion for corporate communications and strategy. You will also be required to have strong budgetary and financial management experience, whilst mastering the ability to manage both up and down to ensure you and your direct reports continue to develop.

In this role you will be directly responsible for building strong relationships with your clients in financial and professional services. You will be commercially focused, tasked with managing budgets, mentoring team members, supporting and guiding daily actions, reviewing and approving content and strategy, identifying new business opportunities, contributing to strong team culture, and finding time to have fun! 

Main accountabilities:
•Ability to manage the implementation of ongoing client activity as part of the day-to-day running of accounts.
•A demonstrated understanding of managing client expectations and budgets.
•Well-developed relationship building skills and ability to independently liaise with clients regarding allocated activities.
•Ability to report to and communicate with the client on allocated tasks as appropriate: including attendance at client/supplier meetings (where relevant) and provision of timely and accurate contact reports, evaluation reports, WIP documents, etc.
•Manage financial activities including reports, invoicing and budgets for clients.
•Mentor junior members of the team (including Account Executives, interns, work experience students).
•Highly developed writing and content development for corporate and business audiences.
•Established relationships with local media – specifically business and/or financial services
•Solid media relations skills; digital strategy and campaign development experience
•The ability to ensure the PR strategy speaks to the digital strategy (and vice versa)
•Expert project manager, with the ability to navigate campaigns that have many moving parts

•Confident, entrepreneurial, self-starter: able to identify and seize opportunities and build trust with key internal and external stakeholders
•Has a track record of supporting with business development with both new and existing clients
•Has confidence and knowledge to provide advice/counsel to senior clients in and around specialist area
•Has strong and persuasive communication skills
•Is a creative, flexible problem solver
•Has desire to work as one team and share knowledge

Operational Competencies:
•Has a track record in being able to educate, persuade/influence critical stakeholders (both internal and external)
•Has a proven ability to develop strong senior media relationships and comprehensive understanding of the media and new media environments

Previous proven experience:
•Bachelor’s degree required, in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Finance, Arts or a related discipline.
•At least 5 years’ PR and communication experience, with strong corporate, investor relations and/or financial services experience
•Proven track record of delivering high-profile campaigns, both in Australia and across APAC
•Experience of leading accounts, account teams and campaigns
•Proven financial acumen and budgetary control experience
•Equally thinks strategically and creatively
