Customer Analyst

We have been a leader in presenting music in Sydney and around the world for almost 90 years. We perform and tour with some of the greatest names in symphonic music, performing the most brilliant music across classical and cross-over genres. Our 90 musicians give performances that cross genres – from the classical to working with contemporary rock and pop artists to live-to-film experiences. And because we believe in music for everyone, we work with communities and schools to get people deeply involved.

We’re looking for a Customer Analyst who will develop business and customer insights through data analysis and testing. As part of the Marketing team you will have the opportunity to help us create more meaningful engagement with our customers and help us find ways of sustaining their loyalty and involvement with our music and wider mission.

Your analytical and statistical skills will help us in making decisions around the design of future products as we as improve our current processes – particularly in the areas of channel communications and return on investment. Your analysis and data evidence will also contribute to practical solutions around segmentation and evolving the customer journey and elevating the role of data analytics across the company’s planning processes and post-activity reviews.

• To delve into the back-end of our CRM and ticketing/transactions system (Tessitura) and get to know the data structure;
• Lead the customer analytics process and produce data-led insights;
• Develop analytical and reporting routines, especially for hypothesis testing, learn-and-test activities and post-campaign analysis;
• Provide data insights to inform customer segmentation around trends and behaviours and product planning;
• Assist in the creation of a measurement framework and high-level metrics around business outcomes; and
• Contribute to business strategy and promote the increasing use of data and statistical analysis across the company.

• Excellent SQL skills; associated SSR & SSIS skills will be highly valued;
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Strong experience in statistical modelling in an applied setting, preferably within the commercial sector;
• Experience in managing large and complex data sets;
• Excellent data visualisation and presentation skills;
• Proven expertise in mathematics and statistics, preferably degree qualified. A STEM background in your education will be highly regarded;
• A passion for working with people, the arts and an interest in classical and a wide range of other musical genres; and
• Highest possible ethical standards in all respects of your professional life.
