Defence Force Recruiting – Senior Marketing Officer

About the role

The Senior Marketing Officer is a key mid-level role within the marketing team this opportunity is a maternity leave cover until October 2020. The Senior Marketing Officer is responsible for managing marketing projects and content creation; from large-scale integrated campaigns through to business-as-usual activities. You’ll receive exposure to a wide variety of marketing including broadcast, mass media, digital, social, recruitment advertising and internal marketing. You will also be responsible for the input and use of financial reporting systems, budget tracking and processing of estimates and invoices.

You’ll join a high performing, cross functional team where you’ll be working with the Brand, Digital, Media, Research and Social Media teams on the development and implementation of marketing campaigns. You’ll work very closely with the Air Force Brand Manager and Marketing Officer, at times you’ll work autonomously with ownership of your own projects and also work as part of the broader Brand team on larger scale projects. Travel will be required in this role

Duties

End-to-end management of marketing projects and campaigns – including brief writing, evaluating concepts, overseeing production, content creation, media implementation and campaign optimisation and reporting.
Support brand strategy development and ongoing brand management.
Liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Work with external agencies including creative and digital, research and media in the development and implementation of campaigns.
Use and oversee financial systems and budget tracking and reporting.

Skills and Experience

Ability to develop and implement marketing campaign strategies and projects.
Strong communication skills.
Demonstrated ability in managing supplier and stakeholder relationships, with the ability to negotiate and influence.
Strong organisational skills including multitasking, prioritising time management and working to deadlines.
Demonstrated ability in providing creative and innovative thinking within a results focused environment.
Strong analytical skills.
Project management experience.
Tertiary qualifications in marketing or related discipline or significant relevant industry experience.
Demonstrated Marketing or Advertising experience (traditional, digital and social media marketing).
Experience in managing marketing budgets including processing and tracking estimates, commitment and expenditure.
Capacity to stay abreast of the recruitment industry, marketing trends and have, or be able to develop, a solid understanding of the Australian Defence Force.
