About the Role

The Ethics Centre’s (TEC) creates and commissions an annual program of digital content. Centred around both our live events program, which includes the Festival of Dangerous Ideas, IQ2 and The Ethics Of, as well as responding to and exploring the most important ethical issues we face today.

Digital content creation and distribution is integral to TEC’s strategy to bring ethics to the centre of everyday life. Enabling us to connect with new and existing audiences and to drive deeper engagement, as well as playing a pivotal role in regular news and current affairs commentary. TEC strives to get to where the conversations are happening around ethics both in Australia and globally.

This role will be responsible for producing and delivering a dynamic year-round digital content program in collaboration and consultation with the TEC’s programming and curatorial team, marketing team and wider TEC stakeholders.
The Ethic’s Centre has its own fully equipped recording and broadcast studio and event space. Utilisation of this equipment will be the responsibility of the Producer, Digital Content.

To be successful in this role, you will need exceptional coordination and time management skills, the ability to manage and prioritise work-flow, whilst also being able to operate flexibly in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will have excellent written communication skills and the ability to quickly adapt to a broad range of tasks.

What we are looking for : Selection Criteria

• Minimum of 5 years professional experience with an arts organisation, broadcaster or media/creative agency.

• Experience in creating, developing and producing digital content at a senior, autonomous level.

• Can produce original content across a range of mediums, most vital of which are:-
– video
– podcasting and innovative audio storytelling
– written content and editorial commissioning
– basic photoshop skills
– experience with recording and broadcast licence agreements

• This role requires a blend of creativity, a passion for ethics and the live talks and ideas industry, coupled with high awareness of digital trends.

• You will identify original ideas and stories for TEC and be responsible for guiding them from initial stages to final delivery.

• Maintain an understanding of current events and issues, monitoring a range of media outlets/sources.

• Experience with social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

• Experience with website or blog content management platforms.

• Strong team, collaboration, relationship management and leadership skills coupled with strong oral and written communication skills.
