The core function of this role is to segment our audience and present them with targeted content that motivates them to open, engage with, and consume more of our content across multiple communication channels including email, premium gated online content, webinars and even book offers. Use the latest technology to create highly converting campaigns leveraging event-driven data, machine-based learning, AI and well-constructed EDMs to maximise revenue through upsell, cross-sell and down-sell offers then this could be the role for you.

This role is not just all about hitting EDM campaign deadlines; we are keen to speak with technical marketers who are creative thinkers and will strive to understand our customer’s interests, their emotions and the problems that our content can help them solve. You will work with a team of highly skilled Editors and Copy-writers to develop beautifully crafted campaigns and then it will be your job to deliver this to highly-targeted custom audience segments utilising both event-driven and subscription data to deliver both ‘1 to 1’ and ‘1 to many’ across key customer touchpoints.

While it’s unlikely you would have used our delivery and reporting systems before, they are backed by a global business network and you’ll be eager to learn from and engage with peers in our other business units around the world, to embrace and create campaigns that deliver results!

The Role …
As one of our EDM & Marketing Automation Specialists you will:

Work closely with our Editorial, Copywriting and Demand Generation teams to ensure that we continue to take to market, thought leading and engaging content and promotions that deliver strong conversion and ROI.
Build, deploy and report on email campaigns utilising your knowledge of list segmentation, targeting and testing combined with a good grasp of deliverability and response indicators.
Devise and manage the implementation, development, analysis, targeting, and testing of new methods of increasing audience engagement, conversion and monetisation numbers.
Manage planning, execution, ongoing reporting, quality control, approvals and optimisation of email campaigns (manage internal analytics and dashboards, provide optimisation and real time targeting recommendations) including design and implementation of test plans (A/B and multivariate)
Conducting regular split-testing on customer segments, subject lines, landing pages, template designs and messaging.
Manage email deliverability, database hygiene, subscription management and compliance with opt-in laws and regulations.
Own all aspects of trafficking, optimisation, and troubleshooting with a sustained focus on efficiency and scalability.
Create and optimise automated campaigns that drive improved performance and efficiency throughout each stage of the customer journey across our customer facing and premium gated content web properties.
Establish measurement frameworks for all email, SMS and automation activity and reporting regularly on performance in conjunction with the Marketing Director – Monetisation.
Help champion the marketing automation platforms (Lytics & BlueShift) within the Marketing function and provide technical support to other members of the Monetisation, Demand Generation and Retention & Renewals teams.
Use customer and sales data to set goals for product growth, identifying gaps in the market where we could develop new products.
Identify new trends in internet and marketing technologies and evaluate their appropriateness for the company.
