General Manager – Marketing PLG

Pegasus Leisure Group (PLG) is the hospitality and gaming arm of the multifaceted Melbourne Racing Club. This business owns and operates a network of 13 pubs and clubs around Melbourne and continues to evolve. Never has there been a more exciting time to join the business!

To compliment this growth, we are now looking to bring in a General Manager – Marketing PLG into the business that will be instrumental in driving the business forward and will be at the forefront of the future success. It is an exciting time for the group and there is a huge amount of ongoing potential for the business!

What are we looking for?

You will be an experienced Senior Marketing Manager or existing General Manager that has a proven track record delivering greater profitability and market share through setting and executing your marketing strategy. This role will be responsible for building the PLG food, beverage and gaming services. No experience with gaming? No problem. We’re looking for top-tier candidates who have excelled in fast-paced environments who are agile and adaptable.

Aside from your energy and drive, you will be a natural people leader, have an uncompromising customer focus and a passion for local area marketing as our 13 venues are all so different.

What you will be responsible for:

To build and implement the PLG marketing plan in line with business strategy
The delivery of all marketing activities including the achievement of sales and machine utilisation targets
Provide interpretation and counsel to Venue Managers regarding marketing activity based on market research and local area intelligence
Manage the strategic direction of ‘go to market’ and tactical execution plans for a range of products and services
Identifying and directing long term market research and product design activities in line with business strategy
Recommending marketing opportunities to the venue teams
Directing the development of strategically aligned pricing and discount policies
Managing the PLG loyalty program strategy and execution at Venue and member level
Collaborate with F&B group to manage the customer service improvement program

To be successful in the this role you will ideally have the following skills or background:

Excellent experience developing local area marketing strategies and plans
Demonstrated experience leading a small marketing team
Managerial Marketing experience in a diverse, fast-paced local area centric environment (Hospitality / Food & Beverage / Gaming / Retail / Sports Betting etc)
Excellent product knowledge with a competitive mindset
Strong business analysis and budgeting skills
Ability to influence stakeholders, suppliers and manage cross functional relationships including our internal customer insights team
Strong understanding of digital marketing practices and trends
Ability to multitask and oversee multiple concurrent campaigns throughout the year
Coach and mentor a wide variety of participants
Initiative to move quickly and be agile when confronted with changing performance trends
An in depth knowledge of the gaming or wagering industry preferred but not essential
Bachelor Degree in Marketing (or comparable)
