Graduate SEO Specialist – Herald Sun

What’s the role?

– Work closely with journalists and editors to optimise breaking news articles and in-depth features for search engines through developing keyword-targeted content
– Conduct website audits (both on-page and off-page) and keyword research
– Submit URL removal requests to Google/Bing
– Conduct auditing of Google Webmaster Tools while working directly with technology teams to rectify any issues
– Report on SEO activities and analysing competitor to recognise areas for future improvement
– Collaborate with Marketing and Commercial teams to identify areas for search engine traffic growth
– Write content designed to attract traffic from search engines for the Herald Sun

Who are you?

– Experience in improving organic search traffic
– Highly competent in SEO keyword research
– Aware of current SEO trends and best practices
– Strong technical understanding of HTML, JavaScript, PHP and a GAIQ and/or GAP certification with Google
– Experience with utilising web analytics software such as Google Analytics, Omniture, Adobe Analytics
– Ability to problem solve and think strategically
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– Self-starter and have the ability to work to tight deadlines
