Graphic Design Manager

Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager, the Graphic Design Manager will have a great opportunity to work as the leader of our in-house Graphic Design team on a range of exciting projects across a variety of platforms.

As the Graphic Design Manager, you’ll be responsible for the creation of bespoke material for use across all communication touchpoints, for overseeing all aspects of the design process, project managing multiple streams of active jobs, and supervising and leading the in-house Graphic Design team.

The role will be required to work closely with internal product, sales and marketing teams and external agency partners in developing content for our wide product range, and will be responsible for producing or managing third party suppliers in the development of all graphic design and artwork, photography, video and filming, 3D image creation, and copywriting. The position also provides a great opportunity to work with the Events & Partnership team in creating original content, sponsor involvement, video production, game/event day activities, and consumer promotions.

Finally, in the role you will also be responsible for managing the in-house Community Manager in the ongoing creation and implementation of original content for use across social and digital platforms.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
– Supervise and lead the in-house Graphic Design team
– Participate in design and redesign of graphics, web page graphics, logos,
illustrations, finished art, advertisements, brochures and many other forms of visual communication
– In-house video production and editing
– Ensure that the delivered products or services adhere to the policies and standards of the company, in line with the requirements of the brief
– Delegate job responsibilities amongst Graphic Design team members and oversee that quality work is being completed within the deadline
– Complete project work within the timeline and estimated budget
– Act as primary point of contact with internal and external project stakeholders
– Oversee that new techniques and processes are used to provide best quality of designs
– Train and mentor the Graphic Design team, while proactively driving new ways of improving the quality of designs and other project issues
– Leverage creative and marketing knowledge to develop new creative campaigns for specific audiences
– Production management, including the liaising with a variety of 3rd party suppliers across digital, print, media, search, design agency, and POS industries

Desirable Skills
– Advanced knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite of design programs
– InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects
– Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of other common design platforms
– Flash, HTML 5, CSS, Final Cut Pro
– Familiarity with social and digital platforms
– Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, MailChimp, WordPress, Hootsuite
– Strong organisational skills with an ability to multi-task and prioritise multiple projects
– A proactive approach with a willingness to take ownership of projects
– Must have a strong attention to detail and ability to work to specifications
– Creative flair and strong visual sense
– Strong communication skills
– Ability to manage a small team, and to work as part of a team
– Able to work autonomously while adhering to existing policies & guidelines

Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in Graphic Design, or equivalent work experience
Required
Experience
Intermediate to advanced position suited to candidate with 5+ years industry experience. Studio Managing experience would be highly regarded.
