Head of Brand and Communications – 9 month contract starting July 2019

Moula has an exciting opportunity to join the Commercial Leadership Team for a 9 month contract opportunity. As Head of Brand and Communications, you’d be responsible for driving the brand growth for one of the fastest growing fintechs in Australia. As the Head of Brand and Communications, you’ll form part of Moula’s Commercial Leadership team, and drive your team to grow the Moula brand across Australia. You’ll guide the in-house creative and comms team to create meaningful engagements with our audiences, and work directly with the Head of Performance Marketing to lead Moula’s marketing strategy.

You’ll support Moula’s growth strategy through brand and marketing initiatives, as well as identifying and supporting revenue-growth opportunities.This role is an exciting opportunity to make a big impact on building Moula as a trusted brand.

– Leadership and management of the team: Guide and support direct reports, to ensure all are engaged and supported in their personal growth. Empower the broader team to drive business outcomes as well as their own initiatives.
– Brand: Guide the Moula brand voice across the creative outputs of the team.
– Act as custodian of the Moula brand, signing off on branding decisions re creative outputs as well as PR and market positioning
– Strategy: Together with Head of Performance Marketing, shift brand and communications strategies as needed based on performance and market research insights.
– Drive marketing initiatives across both acquisition and retention, to engage with both our direct and partner channels.
– New products: Drive GTM strategy and execution for new products and product updates, including both PR and marketing activity for all our audiences.
– PR: Drive the active and reactive PR activity by keeping abreast of market trends and news, identifying opportunity for commentary, and engaging with PR professionals and media to ensure brand message is amplified.
– Market research: Work with market research professionals and performance analyst to run quarterly market surveys, and feed insights into the broader team to inform strategy.
– Leadership and management of the team: Guide and support direct reports, ensure engaged and supported in personal growth. Empower the broader team to drive business outcomes as well as their own initiatives.
– Reporting: Engage with stakeholders and report on performance

You’ll need:
– Strong knowledge, skills and experience in marketing
– Qualification in Marketing, Business or equivalent
– Experience working in a fintech, start-up or rapidly scaling business highly desirable
– Exceptional people skills and a collaborative spirit
– 5+ years of leadership and management experience
– Experience in a brand role, with a deep understanding of the nuances of brand tone of voice
– Analytical skills and background in market research
– Experience managing PR and corporate communications
– Familiarity with B2SME marketing
– Background in financial services or a related industry
– Experience in building a fast-growth brand, including GTM strategy for new products
