Insights Analyst

A fantastic fixed term contract opportunity for a Research/Insights Analyst to join the Audience Research & Analysis team. The team supports NBCU’s international channels (Networks), content licensing (TVD) and Production (Studios) businesses with audience based quantitative and qualitative reporting, insight and strategic analysis in all international territories across all content platforms.

Reporting to the Analytics Manager, the Research Analyst will focus on multivariate data reporting, market based analysis and commercial support for NBCU’s content licensing, digital and linear businesses. The position will also provide some support to local offices in Singapore, Los Angeles and London.

Ideal candidates will be passionate about TV and media, and have previous experience in a similar data/insights analysis role within the industry and possess a high proficiency in data mining and microsoft Excel, and ideally VBA knowledge. To be successful in this role, you will have proven ability to work independently, prioritizing, multi-tasking and working to tight deadlines.

Key responsibilities include:
Provide data, reports and insights across all platforms across Australia & New Zealand using various systems/software including, but not limited to, Landsberry & James, Nielsen Arianna, Adobe Omniture, Google Analytics, Facebook Insights and NBCU’s own custom software systems.
Assist the analytics manager in creating and managing operational analytics (i.e. analysis and insights, data visualizations, and automated, cross-functional reporting) to support the business’ biggest decisions, challenges, and opportunities.
Analyze data and contribute insights and ideas into the presentation and interpretation of commercial areas to be shared with management.
Gather research and intelligence on competitive landscape, clients, digital and commercial trends within the designated markets.
Prepare regular reports to support all of the various internal businesses, including weekly and monthly updates as well as supporting local sales and commercial teams with ad hoc requests.
Help automate/simplify report generation process, as well as contributing ideas to enhance and improve the department where appropriate.

A university degree and preferably 1-2 years data analysis/ insight experience.
High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including knowledge of advanced functions. Knowledge and use of VBA highly desirable.
Knowledge of SQL desirable, as well as any coding experience across PHP, Javascript, R, Python or other relevant languages.
Competence with various data analysis software/tools such as Landsberry & James, Adobe Omniture, Google Analytics, Nielsen Arianna, ITVR, Social Media insights is preferred.
Familiarity with TV and digital research terminology and methodology is an added advantage.
Familiarity with evolving landscape as it relates to TV, media, entertainment and OTT services.
