About the Role
Due to rapid growth of The Foundation and our impact globally, there is an increasing emphasis on the employee communication function. This new role offers scope for ideas and creativity, so you can really make it your own! You will be accountable for supporting the planning, design and delivery of internal communication programs and channels to ensure our people are engaged with our 2019-2023 Strategy and desired workplace culture.

What your day looks like – (although no two days are alike!)
• Plan, source, write and publish content for internal communications channels including monthly eNewsletters, videos, staff emails, intranet, and yammer to build culture and engagement, supporting our organisational strategy and brand.
• Develop and implement communications plans for business initiatives and change projects.
• Support the co-ordination of town hall meetings and staff engagement with virtual events
• Support manager with preparation of presentations, videos and key messages for Executive and leadership
• Collate communication channels data for internal communications reporting
• Pro-active teamwork with the broader Public Affairs team who strive to increase public awareness of The Foundation’s programs in Indigenous eye health in Australia and blindness prevention across the world.
• Build relationships and engage with stakeholders across organisation to ensure the Internal Communications team delivers as a trusted advisor and champion for our people and brand.
• Keep abreast of best practice and innovation in communication, seeking out opportunities to improve the way we engage with our people.

What you’ll need to bring to the table
• Bring your passion for communication and juggling skills! Your positive, can-do attitude will be key to managing tight deadlines and multiple priorities
• Although you don’t need years of experience, you will possess some work experience in a communications role with a strong interest in internal communication
• Exceptional writing skills with a nous for communicating complex information visually
• Experience in building strong rapport and engaging with different stakeholders, building credibility at all levels
• Exceptional organisational skills with a strong emphasis on attention to detail
