Marketing Associate (Education)

The role of Marketing Associate is responsible for maximising the Symphony’s relationship with customers of our education and community program.

The role also assists in the management of ticketing and affiliation initiatives for younger customers.

You will contribute to the creation and management of acquisition, retention and other affiliation programs as well as the direct promotion of concert and events.

Your success will be measured in the numbers of schools and teachers engaged and the frequency of their participation as well as the efficiency with which bookings are managed and school needs around venue access, seating and resource requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide a specialised booking service for customers of the Symphony’s education activities
• Conduct outbound calling to retain and enhance relationships; maintain customer value; cross-sell and upsell to maximise revenues
• Manage end-to-end service for teachers and participating schools including handling of complex customer enquiries, seating requirements, invoicing and payment management
• Build education and community events in CRM database Tessitura and ensure that these builds are signed off by all relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the Tessitura data for education customers
• Build the database of potential customers through acquired lists, direct calling and teacher, student and parent referrals
• Work with the online, CRM and campaign teams to create and manage a teacher affiliation and loyalty program
• Assist in the development of communications collateral by providing guidance around efficient and relevant purchase information, as well as program content
• Act as an internal liaison to ensure that all marketing and service communications around these programs are current and complete
• Apply, as necessary, these skills to the Symphony’s programs of engagement for people under the age of 30, in particular the Symphony’s involvement with cooperative ticketing and promotional programs
• Act as a company representative for these activities and engage with customers and other stakeholders in person
• Other duties as directed

Qualifications & Experience:

• Demonstrable experience in customer service and a proven service orientation
• Experience in ticketing and use of customer databases or reservation systems
• Experience in a marketing environment and providing feedback to marketing colleagues and management
• Experience in managing ongoing customer relationships
• Experience in outbound calling and cold-calling
• Highly developed interpersonal skills and an ability to turn these to sales and service activities
• Well-developed problem-solving skills and ability to implement solutions
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task successfully and deliver to deadline
• Demonstrated flexibility and demonstrated ability to take the initiative when required
• A passion for working with people, the arts and an interest in classical music
