Marketing Specialist

Boards in the Bay (formerly C Skins Byron) is a Byron based surf shop and company which as well as the physical shop also encompasses the online store, Cape Collective surfboard brand and Cape Collective shaping bay.

The company is looking for a Marketing Specialist to join us in our head office on a permanent full-time basis. As well as traditional marketing avenues you will be highly focused on social media and digital marketing, including Google Adwords, PPC ads and social media ad campaigns for our range of B2B and B2C products.

If you’re a marketing-savvy self-starter with the communication skills, knowledge of the surf industry and a proven track record in a range of marketing media this is one for you.

Duties and responsibilities of the position
Identify market opportunities and advise on the development, coordination and implementation of plans promoting the company’s products;
Social media management, content planning and execution
Video content planning and creation
Website content planning, SEO and keyword research
Determine the market for new products and identify and develop market opportunities;
Develop promotion strategies for different sales channels (including B2B, physical store and online)
Drafting and developing marketing plans, advertising, direct marketing and relevant campaigns;
Writing and proofreading marketing copy for both online and print campaigns
Planning, creation and delivering e-mail marketing campaigns
Initiate strategic partnerships with e-commerce platforms and streamlining all platforms
Use sales data to identify key products, growth opportunities and annual marketing plans
Keep up with e-commerce marketing trends and advise on new channels and approaches to adopt
Evaluate and reviewing marketing campaigns and report to management.

Skills and experience required:
Tertiary education in marketing, business or related field
English skills are essential
Minimum 5 years experience in a marketing role
Knowledge and experience within the surf industry (outside of a sales role)
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills;
Strong organisational and time management skills;
In-Depth knowledge of current marketing trends and processes
Understanding and ability to apply digital marketing methods;
Ability to think creatively and bring innovative solutions to marketing challenges;
Ability to work individually as well as contribute to a team;
Strong internal and external relationship management skills.
Both B2C and B2B marketing experience
Extensive experience of Adwords and PPC advertising
Experience in Facebook & Instagram Ad Campaigns (inc concept, creation, and execution)
Demonstrable ability in social media management – inc account growth and content planning
Experience in Youtube SEO, content planning and uploading
Knowledge of SEO and keyword research
Content strategy and planning
Ability to design and execute effective email campaigns
Experience in photography and videography a strong advantage

Salary: $55,000 per year

Marketing: 3 years (Required)

Marketing Degree or higher (Required – although 5 years+ vocational experience may also qualify)
