The Cancer Institute NSW is Australia’s first state wide-cancer control agency, established in 2003 to lessen the impact of cancer across the state.

What you’ll be doing
In this role you will be required to provide expert specialist advice on, and undertake the development and delivery of public relations, media and public affairs activities to support the achievement of the Institute’s strategic objectives.

You will work with media, government, non-government, medical research and other heath sector stakeholders to promote achievements in cancer control, change behaviour and manage and enhance the reputation of the Cancer Institute.

You will be responsible for driving proactive media coverage which supports the various progras and initiatives run by the Institute, as well as responding to emerging issues and requests. You will have experience across all facets of media/press office management.

You will have demonstrated experience working in health communications, either in-house or agency, with an understanding of the NSW public health system and NSW Government.

You will be comfortable taking a strategic and evidence-based approach to public relations, bringing exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
