Media Thinker

Thinkerbell is looking for a Media Thinker with 3-5 experience as a Media Account Manager to join our team of Thinkers and Tinkers in Melbourne, to be a key part of our media offering to deliver excellent media campaigns and execution for our clients, and to assume leadership of day-to-day and campaign planning and project management.

A Thinker has valuable experience in project management within a creative, PR, media, digital or production agency. Or, you may not have ever worked in a ‘creative’ oriented industry, but you’re looking to make a change with your translatable and exceptional project management skills.

You are highly confident but enjoy working within a team to see projects through from inception. You are naturally inquisitive, have a desire to dissect a challenge, confident and not afraid to have an opinion.

Your attention to detail is second to none, you’re extremely organised, and you enjoy getting your hands dirty. You’re a real do-er and happy to help your fellow Thinkers and Tinkers on anything that is required.

This is a dynamic role in a growing company working across Media specifically, but also with the exposure to Thinkerbell’s integrated model, meaning you’ll get experience across all areas. This role comes with the opportunity to make it your own and create something you can be proud of.

Key responsibilities will include:

Collaborate with our Thinkers, Tinkers and our clients to manage multiple projects through the different phases of production.
The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple campaigns or projects with a varied number of stakeholders.
Ensure a deep understanding of our clients’ business and objectives and continually strive to raise the standard of the Client’s advertising.
Involvement in the overall communications strategy development process, providing key campaign insights and recommendations.
Identification and management of creative / innovative media initiatives that are born out of the strategic direction.
Establish rapport and maintain strong, long-term relationships with your clients, media partners and creative agency partners (where relevant)
Comprehensive understanding of the integrated Australian communications marketplace with a focus on paid environments and how they work with owned, earned and shared channels.
Manage campaign deliverables and timelines accurately with a focus on optimization of campaigns to ensure accurate delivery vs plan.
To support the Lead Thinkers – Media or others as required ie. providing client perspective to briefed responses, media landscape/channel knowledge
Preparing media implementation documents and plans with the use of media and desktop tools.
To work closely with Trading Investment Thinkers to ensure client expectations are managed and delivery of performance is clearly communicated
Keeping clients up to date with the changing face of the media landscape and challenge the status quo
Attending client meetings and internal work-in-progress meetings and delivering presentations to staff and clients when required.
Produce comprehensive and accurate reports and project outlines (e.g. WIPs, contact reports, project plans, timelines, campaign results etc)
Identify potential production risks and proactively find solutions to address these in advance.
Work on several projects and ideas at once, sometimes under pressure and often to tight deadlines.
Coordinate the day-to-day agency resources to ensure client projects are delivered at the highest quality, on-time and budget to impress our clients
Working with Lead and Head Thinkers to produce accurate and realistic estimates and invoicing to ensure all work is billed accurately and in a timely manner.
Tracking, monitoring and reporting on the status of all jobs as defined by the client.
Being the media liaison for new business planning, taking on strategic new business opportunities to continue to bring our integrated model to life and deliver on our promise of “measured magic”.
Help develop and grow Thinkerbell’s media product internally and in the wider market, demonstrating curiosity about how to do things better and an openness to change, with an ability to bring people on a growth journey.

The skills and experience you have:

Exposure to a range of industries including but not limited to Retail, Financial Services, B2B and not for profit (preferred but not essential).
Understanding and comfort in media effectiveness principles and key tenets of best practice media – effective reach, understanding of the attention dynamic, cross media planning, attribution
Understanding of audience insight tools and ability to use these to uncover valuable findings for clients that can be applied within media.
The ability to focus on what investment does for brands, not specifically how it works.
Comfort and familiarity in working with a broad group of people within an agency – creatives, copywriters, media strategists, brand strategists, client leaders – with the sole aim of delivering highly ambitious work for our clients.
Enthusiasm and drive to make others better – through training, informal advice, and helping the wider business understand the wide area of media.

We also develop personal Measured Magic Indicators (MMIs are our version of KPIs) to ensure everyone is growing in their role and beyond.

We kick off every week with Measured Mondays, our all agency, super-wip and finish every Friday at 4pm with Magic Hour, where we get creative and weird together.

On top of your regular leave, everyone also gets a Mind Expansion Project per year, up to 5 consecutive days of extra leave per year for you to expand your mind and explore something new (that is something you wouldn’t normally do and something you’ve never done before), and then share back your experience with the agency.
