Mid-weight Digital Designer

We produce mobile-first websites, interactive online advertising, apps, social media content and innovative digital experiences for a wealth of major brands. Our reputation has led to the development of a new Midweight Designer role.

Working closely with the Head of studio, marketing and client management teams, you will be creating digital assets across websites, landing pages, banners, eDM’s, social media, mobile applications and interface designs.

Your portfolio demonstrates your experience and excellent track record of creating original and compelling digital design assets. A demonstrated understanding of CRO, A-B Testing and Implementation is a massive positive.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Design of commercially focused and user friendly websites.
• Look over and provide feedback to the junior designer.
• Design of unique creative content pieces that Jaywing provides clients in accordance with the brief, any brand guidelines and CRO recommendations set
• Design of small to large scale projects such as display creative, website design, eDMs, eBooks and other smaller assets required to support the brand
• Representation of the creative team for the generation and implementation of innovative and creative ideas for new and existing clients

You will:
• Take pride in crafting innovative digital design campaigns
• Have a sharp eye for detail and quality in both layout and typography
• Create designs that work – utilising your solid understanding of UI and UX principles.
• Have essential knowledge of Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop & InDesign.
• Have the ability to execute a project from brief right through to delivery, ranging from sketches, wireframes, through to site maps, user flows and interface design.
• Understand the technical aspects of digital design and be able to work closely with our internal development team
• Have excellent communication and presentation skills, both internally to other team members and externally to clients
• Be a self-starter and have the ability to use initiative and good time management to control multiple ongoing projects
• Be organised, positive, hard-working and be comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic working environment
• Be comfortable working within creative and digital brand guidelines & interpret briefs effectively
• Tap into the knowledge of our PPC and SEO teams to ensure landing pages and websites are built to convert

A Creative Designer will work very closely with…

• Front & Back End Developers to ensure that flat designs are accurately and fully translated digitally. You will also scope out creative ideas with developers to ensure they are feasible and in scope of budgets and timings
• Internal teams such as Earned Media and Client Services to help come up with creative ideas and translate them into creative campaigns which are fully scoped out, relevant and feasible to pitch to a client
• Project Management team on a daily basis to ensure work that is completed on time, deadlines are realistic and briefs are accurate
• Project Managers on web development and other larger creative projects
• Display team on technical specs of display creative
• Other Senior Designers

Skills & Experience


• 2.5+ years Agency experience and/or Portfolio to match
• Be educated preferably to degree level or an equivalent qualification in design and/or an outstanding creative portfolio
• Adobe Creative Cloud Software in particular: Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
• Design of fully responsive websites
• Experience of UX/UI and usability principles
• Basic understanding of HTML and CSS
• Knowledge of MS Office in particular Word & PowerPoint
