The University Communications Group leads activity to strengthen the University’s brand and reputation through media, strategic communications and digital media. University Communications is responsible for media management and training, internal communications, issues management, corporate publications, website maintenance and the production of digital assets.

The Role and Your Responsibilities

Officer, Digital Communications will contribute to the success of the RMIT Strategy by delivering a timely, well managed web publishing service that is best practice across all of RMIT. This will support an effective and engaging platform that creates transformational experiences for staff, students and the public in how they access information, engage with RMIT and collaborate for business results.

This role will also have an administrative responsibility, creating regular reports for the Manager, Digital Communications and the Associate Director, Digital Communications where required. This will also encompass maintenance of platforms used by the Digital Communications team, and ad hoc administrative tasks and other support as requested.

This role is part of a dynamic and creative team who deliver University-wide governance, content architecture and publishing services for RMIT’s websites. The role will contribute to the management and reporting of data and analytics of the site, informing strategic decisions, suggesting improvements and using the data to find improvements and efficiencies.

This role will work closely with the Digital Communications team as well as servicing stakeholders from across the University.

Skills and Experience Required
-Ability to work in a highly-effective communications function or agency environment.
-Understanding of communications planning, delivery and measurement that contribute to organisational objectives.
-Excellent communication skills and demonstrated passion for delivering creative and impactful communications experiences.
-High attention to detail and the ability to analyse and interpret data.
-Understanding of new media and digital technology to improve outcomes.
-Experience in digital publishing and familiarity with content management systems.
-Experience with Adobe Marketing Cloud will be highly regarded.
