PR Account Director

GTI Tourism is a full-service marketing and PR agency specialising in the tourism industry. We are on the lookout for a key leader within our PR team of eight. This is a dream job, working on clients including leading hotel groups, airlines, tour operators, hospitality groups and tourist boards. The role will suit someone who is a fantastic PR operator with the desire to work on clients they can be truly passionate about.

The Account Director role will be responsible for key GTI clients including Marriott International, Westin Brisbane and LATAM Airlines. Along with this they will play a key role within the agency driving best practice media relations maintaining the agency’s high standards for press materials, content and message development.

The Account Director will have significant experience in corporate and crisis communications, with the ability to leverage the news agenda, craft messages and advise on PR strategy to a range of senior stakeholders. They will also have experience developing and implementing creative consumer PR and integrated marketing strategies.

The successful candidate will take up a key leadership role within the agency, managing key clients with three direct reports within the PR team of eight. They will establish themselves quickly as an expert and go to on PR for the wider team of 20.

As an agency leader, they will have a role in PR team mentoring, workflow, training and reviews, new business development and on boarding of new clients.

The perfect candidate will be an experienced public relations professional with travel industry experience and experience working in large or mid-size PR agencies. They will have exceptional knowledge of the Australian media landscape, a creative approach to generating traditional media coverage and experience in evolving strategies to include content creation, social media and digital.

• Minimum 7-8 years’ experience working in public relations
