PR Account Executive

GTI is a leading destination marketing and PR agency. We are on the look out for an exceptional PR Account Executive to join our growing team. The right candidate will be a savvy communicator and content creator with solid writing skills, a passion for travel and a willingness to work hard within a great team. They will get the opportunity to work on incredible clients, all within the tourism space, learn best practice destination PR and be involved in delivering creative, and integrated campaigns.

KEY TASKS:
– Developing relationships with a range of media in the travel and lifestyle
space
– Finding new and creative ways to generate media coverage for clients
– Drafting content and media materials about incredible destinations and
travel products
– Proactively pitching new story ideas to media outlets
– Coordinating press trips (to incredible destinations) and hosting when
required
– Coordinating events, launches and face-to-face media meetings
– Maintaining press office systems including media lists, paper rosters and
media kits
– Building knowledge and relationships with key press, broadcast and online
contacts (including advocates and bloggers) and keeping an updated
database of these contacts
– Ensuring timely and comprehensive response to requests for information,
interviews and images
– Building and maintaining solid relationships with key media, airlines,
industry partners and PR representatives
– Monitoring media coverage for clients via media monitoring service and by
regularly reading all key trade and consumer publications
– Attending industry events to represent clients when required
– Assisting with office admin when required
– Participating in agency pitches and assist with new business proposals
when required

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing/Communications/PR preferred
• A minimum of 12 months’ experience in relevant field
• Experience in or exposure to the travel industry and consumer PR
(preferred)
• Knowledge of media operations
• Knowledge of digital and social media
• Passion and interest in travel and tourism
• Proven creativity and exceptional writing and/or content creation skills
• A growth mindset with an interest in continuous learning
• Their own unique and authentic personality, interests and skills
