About the role
The PR and Corporate Affairs Specialist will work closely with the Head of Corporate Affairs in proactive and strategic media relations campaigning and event and reputation management, with the purpose of enhancing and protecting Teachers Mutual Limited (TMBL) and its brands’ reputations and profiles.

Some of the key duties will include:

• Drafting, pitching and issuing media releases
• Monitoring media coverage (including social media) of the organisation
• Brainstorming and conceiving story ideas
• Working with a range of internal stakeholders to promote and publicise initiatives externally via the media
• Co-ordinating the production of TMBL’s Annual Report including writing copy, and liaising with internal stakeholders and external design agency
• Assisting the Head of Corporate Affairs in executing media strategy
• Working with the Manager, Ethical Business Strategy to prepare engaging media releases and other external materials
• In the Head of Corporate Affairs’ absence, liaising with Executive and senior staff on media relations and incident management

About you
We are looking for a self-starter, who enjoys teamwork, dedicated to professionalism and success.

Additionally, you will have:
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Good working knowledge of print, broadcast, online and social media
• Good media contacts, or ability and willingness to build and maintain relationships with media
• Articulate, with highly developed verbal and written communication skills
• Good time management skills, strong organisational abilities, and attention to detail
• Event management experience, including media events
• Good interpersonal skills, able to interact and relate at all levels of the organisation
• A degree in Communications (PR) or similar
