PR & Events Manager

Unique opportunity for you to join us as a PR & Events Executive with an immediate start.
Permanent or short term contract opportunities available.
You will take ownership of developing and implementing media relations campaigns and communications projects. You will also manage and organise national events and sponsorship opportunities. Your PR skills and the ability to build relationships across our leadership team and with journalists and media organisations will see you make this role your own. 
THE ROLE
Generate media coverage to help raise the profile of the organisation and its CEO
Build strong relationships with the media including journalists
Position the organisation as a ‘thought leader’ in the education space
Write and produce media releases and content across channels and platforms
Develop / Maintain strong relationships with the media
Support PR activity including product launches
Manage PR agencies and consultants, as well as media monitoring contracts
Work with agencies to manage our brand reputation
Deliver creative solutions and new ideas across traditional and social media
Provide insights into financial and education sectors issues and media trends
Manage and organise sponsorships and events including AGM and staff briefings, as well as create a framework for successful seminars and roll-out nationally
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 5 years’ experience in PR is a must
Background in PR agencies preferred
Existing contacts in media such as journalists and editors
Experience in building strong brand reputation and awareness
Experience in organising events
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
High-level media/editorial knowledge, particularly in relation to daily and deadline-driven media requirements
Demonstrated experience in social media communications
Strong communications and copywriting skills
Exceptional attention to detail, including editing and proofreading skills
Tertiary studies in PR, journalism, communications or related discipline
