Publicist and Copywriter (Investments/Finance)

As a CBD-based listed funds management business offering a range of specialized investment strategies, we are looking for a part-time / contract PR and editorial manager to own our corporate media and published content co-ordination and relationships across all media platforms.

This is a part-time contract role that suits the right person with a strong work ethic but looking for flexibility, with the option to extend into a permanent position.
This role suits someone with a positive attitude who shows enthusiasm for their work, has exceptional communication skills, and is a creative thinker.

The ideal candidate will have:
– At least 4 years previous experience in financial services public relations
– Excellent written, verbal and persuasive communication skills
– the ability to research and write eye-catching media releases and other corporate communications material;
– established relationships with various media and journalist networks, as well as the ability to develop new relationships
– a strong ability to maintain brand positioning and messaging through all writing
– a good understanding of content marketing
– the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
– a keen eye for detail, proven organisational skills, and demonstrated capacity to work to tight deadlines
– Sound knowledge of the MS Office suite.

Kay tasks:
You will build and maintain key journalist and media relationships with the aim of ensuring consideration for thought leadership proposals and drive press coverage, as well as maximise various media opportunities (both offered and sponsored).
You will be required to attend monthly fund manager updates and sales team briefings with the aim of identifying opportunities as well as to build press releases and secure media coverage for topical and relevant campaigns
– Story brainstorming and ideation
– Write media releases and work with internal team members to refine, edit and distribute any written content.
– Manage ad hoc media requests
– Actively seek out opportunities to raise brand, fund, and fund manager profiles
– Track, monitor and report on all PR activity and coverage
– Maintain a Press Archive
– Develop and maintain PR, content calendar across multiple platforms and sponsorship packages
– Proactively pitch, follow up and secure media coverage as per the PR calendar

The role:
– Flexible working hours for the right candidate that will be determined by a combination of business requirements and work-flow generated by you.
