About the Role?

This is a 12-month fixed term position

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Digital Marketing, the Publications Editor will manage the operations of the print publications portfolio, with a focus on ensuring that our flagship publication – INTHEBLACK magazine – reflects CPA Australia’s new strategic goals and meets members’ content needs.

You will be responsible for:
• Working with the INTHEBLACK Editor, intheblack.com Digital Content Manager and Senior Manager, Digital Marketing, to ensure the seamless production of INTHEBLACK content in print, online, and across other channels
• Manage the end-to-end monthly print production process, from article conception and production schedules, budgeting and invoicing, through to distribution and return-to-sender mail management
• Source, engage and manage external contributors and vendors, including printers, designers, sub-editors and writers
• Draft copyright licences for external publishers wishing to use INTHEBLACK content
• Work with the CPA Australia commercial team on sponsored content and ad placements in print and online
• Continuously revising and improving content and reviewing distribution channels, in line with best practice and member research findings
About You
You have considerable experience in an end-to-end print magazine publishing role, including managing budgets and schedules; sourcing vendors (national and international); overseeing international distribution; and commissioning freelance writers and designers, in addition to:

• Stakeholder management
• Change management
• Strong editing, copy-editing and writing skills, coupled with the ability to exercise sound editorial judgement
• Sound theoretical knowledge of best practice communication strategies
• Experience in editing financial and business content
• Highly developed computer skills, including competence in InDesign, Photoshop, Excel and MS Office
• Knowledge of digital publishing (from SEO to social) and the Sitecore CMS would be a distinct advantage
