Sales Director

Join one of Australia’s leading travel publications, focused on the high-end travel and luxury lifestyle markets.

As our Sydney-based sales director, you will be responsible for building new relationships, managing existing relationships and taking the business to the next level.

You will have 5+ years in digital media sales and managing a small team. You will have solid relationships inside the agency networks and direct relationships within the travel and credit card space will be highly regarded.

About the Role:
• Working closely with the commercial and editorial management team, take the lead in executing the growth agenda for new business in the region
• Explore new business opportunities with direct advertisers, agencies, technology partners and publishers
• Be responsible for sales pipeline, revenue forecasting and progress reporting
• Build deep strategic relationships at multiple levels within target prospects
• Qualify prospects, identify opportunities, pitch solutions and close deals
• Work closely with management and support staff to ensure the publication is meeting the needs of clients and users – give regular feedback.

Skills & Experience:
• Be a seasoned Relationship Manager/entrepreneurial Business Development Manager with an exceptional sales track record
• Have first-hand knowledge of the digital advertising landscape and the prevailing trends within the sector across APAC
• A hands-on professional who can switch between strategic and tactical activities with ease
• Ability to build and manage a top performing advertising sales team
• Strong business acumen with a thorough understanding of sales and marketing principles
• Have an entrepreneurial mindset
• Overall be a highly engaging sales professional who drives results, makes quality decisions, solves problems and manages through ambiguity and complexity
• 5+ years of proven past experience in digital marketing or digital media, including knowledge of media sales and buying.
• Strong understanding of the digital and print media landscape and a strong command of the partnership opportunities in these spaces.
• A track record in development and preparation of RFPs from media agencies.
• Ability to manage advertising inventory and advertising operations team
• Existing network of contacts and working relationship with a wide range of media agencies working across both endemic and non-endemic brands.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience selling solutions to direct advertisers or media agencies, as well as those with industry relationships in the high-end travel and lifestyle sectors
• C-Level presentation skills
