The Business Unit
The Strategic Communications team is responsible for the management of Arts Centre Melbourne’s communications, brand, reputation and stakeholder engagement. The team coordinates the integrated planning and implementation of corporate communications across multiple channels, working closely with internal teams including Customer Experience, Media, Social, CRM, External Engagement, Human Resources and Philanthropy. The team is focused on increasing the profile of Arts Centre Melbourne and engaging a greater and more diverse range of audiences and stakeholders through the delivery of targeted and integrated communications and strategic media. Alignment with the Philanthropy and Customer Experience teams aids in maintaining a consistency across the entire customer journey – through Arts Centre Melbourne’s owned, earned and paid channels. The Strategic Communications team is responsible for external and internal communications across the organisation, media and PR, issues management, publications and content production as well as stakeholder events. This team will also lead on all public positioning, issues management and community and stakeholder engagement on the Arts Centre Melbourne component (Reimagining Arts Centre Melbourne) of the Victorian Government’s Melbourne Arts Precinct Transformation.

About the Position
As the Senior Advisor, Communications and Stakeholder Engagement you will contribute to Arts Centre Melbourne’s strategies for internal and external communications, publications and content and brand awareness. Working with the Director, Strategic Communications, you will implement a communications and stakeholder strategy that engages a wide variety of stakeholders in support of multi-phase projects and business priorities. You will take the lead, working with the Strategic Communications team to develop compelling and persuasive corporate communications materials across a diversity of channels to help created an engaged internal team and an informed community of advocates and stakeholders externally. Your talent and creativity as a writer and content creator will be key to your success in the role as will your organisational and project management skills, attention to detail and sense of humour.

To be successful you will require:
• A tertiary qualification in communications, public relations and/or equivalent experience
• Extensive related experience in the cultural, arts, entertainment or tourism sectors
• Demonstrated skills and experience in strategic planning for, and delivery of, a diversity of communications through a multitude of channels
• Outstanding writing skills and an ability to tailor a message to any audience, with creativity and impact
• Experience in mentoring a high-performance, high-capacity team to achieve outstanding results
• Experience working across an organisation at a senior level, providing expert communications advice as required
• Adept skills at maintaining, nurturing and growing positive and productive stakeholder relationships
• Capacity to represent an organisation, and ability to create and articulate media strategies to a broad range of stakeholders.
