Senior Communications Specialist (4 days, charity sector)

Leading Australian not-for-profit is looking for a PR/communications professional to join their high-performing marketing and communications team.

**Would suit agency SAM/junior AD with a PR/comms background**

This is a permanent part time role (4 days a week), based in Surry Hills.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing and providing coaching and mentoring to a small team, you will be responsible for strategic PR and corporate communications activity to raise profile, drive fundraising and promote services and support programs.

Key responsibilities will include:
– developing a national PR strategy for the organisation
– working closely with a PR agency
– corporate communications including CEO comms, annual review, crisis communications messaging
– researching and writing content across a range of channels
– interviewing key stakeholders to create content for a range of audiences
– embedding brand content, language and tone of voice across the organisation
– translating research results into compelling content
– writing, distributing and pitching stories and materials to media
– providing support to media spokespeople
– working with ambassadors
– working with an internal graphic designer.

We’re looking for someone with:
– a minimum of 5-6 years’ experience in corporate communications, PR or marketing communications (in house or agency)
– ability to think strategically while also being hands-on developing communication material
– exceptional writing. editing and proofreading skills
– a love of working with multiple internal stakeholders to produce high quality communications
– a track record producing a wide range of communication material to tight deadlines.

On a personal note, you will be an experienced communications professional who prides yourself on producing quality content and communication materials, enjoys PR and has some experience coaching and mentoring others.

You’ll be highly motivated, positive, passionate and hands-on.
