Senior Media Advisor

Hope & Glory is delighted to be working with Metro Trains (Metro) in their search for a Senior Media Advisor. Metro is a multi-award winning organisation responsible for operating and maintaining Melbourne’s metropolitan train network, successfully transporting over 400,000 passengers per day.

As the Senior Media Advisor, you will help drive the planning and delivery of critical media activity that supports the objectives of the organisation. You will work closely with senior internal stakeholders, providing them with high-quality, strategic advice, as well as establishing strong partnerships with Victorian government agencies and other operators.

To be considered for this role, your application likely shows the following:
• Extensive experience across media relations and an excellent understanding of the media and the news cycle.
• Exposure to issues and crisis management communications.
• Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships with trust and credibility.
• Sharp writing skills and the ability to absorb complex information and distil it for a range of audiences.
• The ability to work in a complex, fast-paced operating environment.
• Experience acting as media spokesperson (preferred but not mandatory).
• Experience in the transport, infrastructure or government sector would be highly regarded.

This is a full-time role based onsite and will require the successful applicant to participate in the media on-call roster, including staffing the 24/7 media phone line on one week on / one week off schedule.
