They are a market leading mobile video solutions business that specialise in providing live-video streaming, body worn camera, in-car video systems and content and digital evidence management solutions. m-View’s customers have demand for high quality, reliable and integrated solutions and represent Law Enforcement, Public Safety, Local Government, Industry and Private Sector organisations.

Due to significant high growth, they are looking for a Software Development Lead Role to join the team. The role will be based out of their brand-new Melbourne CBD office.

The What

Maturing the software development processes according to industry best practice (Capability Maturity Model Integration)

Mentoring software engineers on the software development life-cycle and engineering practices

Applying best practice for SaaS and On-premise customer streams

Operating in an Agile environment you will be required to manage the scrum, work with the team to allocate sprints, provide effort estimates, deliver development projects to deadlines

Reporting to Executive management on all aspects of the development process and team performance

Document product requirements to feed into the development process, working with senior management and product management to define software development strategy and tasks

Implementing R&D framework and documentation processes

Working closely with the support and deployment team to ensure consistent quality in customer delivery

Management of offshore development teams

The How

Minimum 7 years overall information technology experience including hands-on experience at a Senior Software Engineer level.

Previous experience managing development teams

Previous experience in Mobile Development for IOS and Android

Have a customer delivery focussed mindset – previous SaaS experience preferred

Strong knowledge of the following technologies:

o Microsoft Technology stack: .Net and Core with C# Development

o Web backed and frontend (ASP & MVC), Windows Applications, WCF Services, Rest APIs, SSRS, Identity Management

o SQL Servers (2012 – latest)

o Cloud Platforms : Amazon and Azure (Federated)

o Media Servers, Linux, CentOS, NGINX, Python and C++

o Multimedia encodings & protocols : RTSP, RTP/RTCP, SRTP, ONVIF, RTMP, HLS, DASH

o Multimedia Frameworks : Gstreamer, FFmpeg etc.

o Network and Security Protocols : TCP, UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL, TLS and DNS

o CI/CD : Team City, Jenkins, Salt Stack
