Sponsorship Manager

SPONSORSHIP MANAGER – 5 MONTH CONTRACT
Are you fascinated with how design and technology work together to tell an engaging story?
As a Sponsorship Manager at BLE, you’ll play an integral part creating compelling audience engagement strategies that drive results for our client. You will unite our highly regarded client, their partners and the events and operations teams in the development of result-oriented solutions, connecting design to strategy and creating a successful event attracting over 3000 people over multiple days and events.
No two days are ever the same! The ideal teammate has a level head, a huge capacity for information, a strong ability to understand both the client & project needs. Ideally 5+ years related experience, having managed large multi-day format conferences and activations, can work in a team with positive force, has worked with large clients with high expectations, and can effectively direct and drive sponsorship expectations within BLE. A strong understanding of large-scale conferences and experiential events is a must.
Salary is based on experience. This is a 5-month contract role at BLE. Interested should apply with cover letter and resume. References will be required.

THE ROLE

Sponsorship Manager: Primarily responsible for the end-to-end management of all sponsorship for a Global IT clients Symposium.

Top line Requirements: Minimum 5 years of experience in sponsorship, BDM or client engagement roles. Ideally must have agency experience in the IT and Technology industries.

THE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Attend briefings with all stakeholders and create value propositions for sponsors
• Create, manage and execute sponsorship packages in line with set targets – often having to work closely with sponsor to create bespoke requests that are in line with event theming and operational requirements
• Work with your manager and internal stakeholders to create and deliver sponsorship proposals and agreements
• Successfully be able to manage complex external stakeholder relationships
• Nurture repeat business and long-term relationships with clients
• Provide constructive feedback and input on event content
• Adhere to the company’s sales process and methodology (this is not a sales role, but management of stakeholders (internal and external) and sponsors must be aligned with packages sold)
• Timely, professional and customer-centred approach to relationship management of the company’s sponsors, pre, during and post event.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR:

You are articulate, well spoken, have exceptional communication skills and are a competitive, self-motivated, goal-oriented person with a driven attitude. Experience in a sponsorship related role is a requirement and know that we are looking for a candidate to have the right attitude.

This role will suit someone who is very comfortable feeding information into multiple stakeholders, and working with multiple team members managing different elements of the symposium. If you like working solo, this role is not for you.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• 5+ years event sponsorship, meeting and/or conference industry experience
• Must be a Permanent Resident
• Agency Background
• An absolute ‘peoples person’
• Most importantly someone who is driven, fun and excited about tackling major projects!

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Understand and live by the BLE Core Values
• Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor a team of professionals
• Familiarity with all aspects of strategic event sponsorship and production
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce office procedures
• Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
• Ability to manage several projects at a time
• Ability to work extended hours as required
• Excellent verbal and documented written communication skills
• Strong multi-tasking skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to plan and prioritize
• Complex problem-solving ability
• Ability to lift 10kg
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
• Ability to travel
• Coordinate tasks, information and timelines with internal and external resources
• Skilled in the use of computers, preferably in a Mac, OS-based operating environment including MS Office Suite and Mac equivalent
