Summer Intern – Marketing Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team of Perth-based start-up small business, which would suit a university student looking for practical real-world experience in marketing including developing partnerships.
Real Indonesia is a social-entrepreneurial small business start-up. Our mission is to connect curious, conscious travellers to authentic Indonesian experiences beyond the tourist strips of Bali. We also aim to support sustainable tourism and local economic development throughout the Indonesian archipelago.
Key Responsibilities:
• Creating and developing new innovative ways to communicate the company message to new customers – resulting in customer acquisition
• Seek and develop partnerships to reach new customer channels

Qualifications/Skills – Essential:
• Experience marketing a small business, non-profit OR commitment and willingness to learn the necessary skills.
• Organised, attention to detail, uses initiative to work independently and solve problems

Qualifications/Skills – Desirable:
• Tertiary qualifications (or progress towards) in Marketing or equivalent field
• Interest/knowledge in Indonesia, social impact and the development of a start-up business

Location: Although Real Indonesia is based in Perth, Western Australia, this position can work remotely from anywhere in the world. Ideally the successful applicant would be based in Australia or Indonesia. Being based in Perth will be seen as an advantage.
Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per week, could increase dependant on the interest and schedule of the successful applicant and on the development of the business.
Please note this is a volunteer position potentially leading to an equity agreement and/or formal employment.
