Walkley Foundation Program Coordinator

The Walkley Foundation is looking for a Program Coordinator to join our small team full-time in our Sydney office. We work hard, but it’s incredibly rewarding – we work with the best journalists in Australia and have amazing support across the industry.

We have an exciting opportunity for an energetic coordinator who has some skin in the game. The successful candidate will work across communications, awards and events supporting the whole team to deliver a year-round program that showcases the best in Australian journalism.

We have a number of exciting projects we are developing and are seeking an efficient, motivated, highly organised individual, who has an interest in Australian media. You will be digitally savvy and have demonstrated interpersonal and written communication skills, high attention to detail and the ability to multitask to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

You will be an all-rounder who has had general experience in aspects of project, festival, events and/or award management. Initially this is a contract position to the end of 2019, but there may be potential for the role to grow as the organisation develops.

If you have had three or more years’ experience in a similar environment such as PR, events, festivals, publishing, media, advertising or arts organisations, we want to hear from you.

Key areas of responsibility will be to offer support and coordination across:
Events and awards
International media exchange programming
Public programs
Social media and digital engagement
Other aspects of the Walkley program as required

Selection criteria – Demonstrated experience in:
Program coordination
Social media and digital engagement
Working in a team environment
Time management
Administration- keeping accurate records and database entries
Communications, including written and interpersonal
Digital platforms such as, WordPress, Google Drive, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, MailChimp and other programs
