Jonesy & Amanda ‘doubled’ in WSFM promotion

ARN’s latest promotion for the WSFM Sydney breakfast program is playing on the “double you”/ “W” similarity by featuring duplicates of hosts Amanda Keller and Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones.

The new series of ads, created by Joy, features the pair jumping up and down on a trampoline alongside their twins as the revamped rock version of the WSFM jingle says “I love you so much, I want to double you”.

It comes after the third radio ratings survey of the year, which saw the pair finish with a 9.4% share behind Kiis FM’s Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson’s 11.9% and 2GB’s Alan Jones, who finished with a 15.3% share.

ARN’s chief marketing officer, Anthony Xydis, said he wanted to showcase the “energy of the station” as well as embrace its heritage and unique music positioning.

“This unrivalled combination has made WSFM #1FM and there is no better time to demonstrate ARN’s ongoing investment in marketing as a key part of our strategy for WSFM and the broader network,” Xydis said.

He added: “Using a simple concept, we wanted to capture the on-air chemistry of Jonesy & Amanda, who are loved by their audience for their sense of fun, cheeky banter and genuine friendship.”
