Madman Media acquires Garage Entertainment

The Madman Media Group has bought Garage Entertainment, a rights management and production company which specialises in action sports film and television content.

“Becoming part of The Madman Media Group will strengthen Garage’s ability to reach audiences across all VOD platforms, allow them to better exploit all aspects of content distribution, while also aligning with Madman’s film and television production initiatives,” a statement from Madman said.

The acquisition aims to bolster Madman Media’s video on demand offering into the sports and adventure market – the aggregated subscriber base will now have over 600,000 registered users.

Madman’s current streaming services include AnimeLab, which hosts fast-tracked anime content from Japan, and DocPlay, which houses its documentaries. .

Garage Entertainment has also produced award-winning TV and film, including Bra Boys, Missing, Fighting Fear and The Crew, while Madman Production Company is responsible for That Sugar Film and A Month of Sundays.
