Sydney-based boutique travel and lifestyle PR agency, Barking Owl Communications, has been appointed by leading global cruise brands, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises to manage their communications programmes in Australia and New Zealand.

Commencing this week, public relations activity will include the management of an extensive news bureau, media familiarisation strategy, partnerships and events, all designed to continue raising awareness and helping to drive new-to-brand for these upper premium and luxury cruise brands in the region.

“With international borders now open, Australians are looking to seize the opportunity to explore the world again. Providing an extensive range of destination-immersive itineraries that traverse continents, cruising with Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises delivers the ideal solution for discerning travellers,” said Steve Odell, SVP and managing director Asia Pacific, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

“With this exciting outlook for travel, and cruising, on the horizon, we felt it was the right time to embark on a new voyage with our media relations strategy,” Odell continued. “Barking Owl Communications’ in-depth knowledge of the travel and lifestyle market, their professional approach to our brief coupled with their fresh, creative ideas and a strong understanding of traditional and digital media made them the perfect choice to amplify our brand programmes in this market. We are delighted to welcome them onboard.”

Both cruise lines have extensive plans in place this year, including future reveals for new ship launches, ongoing enhancements and upgrades, compelling Voyage Collection launches and engaging partnerships with some of Australia’s leading brands in the arts, culture and fashion sectors.

“With huge pent-up demand locally for cruising, and a re-invigorated hunger for international travel, this is a wonderful time to be working with these two prestige cruise lines which are distinguished by their elevated cuisine offerings, immersive tour experiences ashore and beautifully appointed accommodation matched by highly personalised service,” said Jill Collins, managing director of Barking Owl Communications. “We look forward to bringing our previous experience working with luxury tourism and lifestyle brands to this relationship and growing a highly successful partnership into the future.”
